What would I remember from Naples? A windy night, walking through the old part of town, the street lights moving, the clothes hanging from the windows and the electricity in the air, and ancient fountain in the middle of an old road, the claustrophobic and narrow streets, the people living among ruins. But from that, I don’t have a photo, it’s just in my head.
I’ve been working on my project “Les Ponts de Lyon” since the beginning of the last winter. Now everything is starting to change with the beginning of the spring and then, the summer. New colors, new shapes, the landscape is different somehow.
Some of these photos will be on my main site under the project.
This is project is made on film photography, I’m working with a Mamiya 7 and Kodak Portra film. I love how colors turn different with the change on the light.
Full of tourist. Sinking. Smelling. Rainy and grey. Old. Full of boats and masks.
I’ve always imagined this city, I was there for just one day and I couldn’t get a glimpse of its complexity and richness. I’ll have to go back.
Part two of my ongoing series about the Quai du Rhone, at Lyon.
More coming later.
